My focus is “you,” while presiding as your Judge of Probate or listening and assisting you in the Clerk’s office or on a call; doing anything that I can to understand, respond, and meet your need.

I’m committed to you. I’m committed to serving as your Clerk of Superior Court, drawing on my experience since 1999 as an Assistant and Deputy Clerk of Superior Court.

I’m a lifelong resident of Chatham County. I grew up in Siler City, attended our public schools, and graduated from Jordan Matthews High School. I married my high school sweetheart, Jason Hackney. We are proud parents of two sons, 18 and 14.

I know what it is like to be a working mom. While working full time in the Chatham County Clerk of Superior Court office, I juggled family, church, and community while pursuing advanced education. It took me six years, but I persevered and I did it! In May 2015, I earned my Applied Science, Paralegal Technology degree, graduating with honors. That same year, I became a NC State Bar Certified Paralegal, certified by the NC State Bar Board of Paralegal Certification.

A busy life now includes a family farm. We operate a poultry farm that produces organic chicken for a major poultry company. I remain active in church and community activities, which includes teaching Sunday School, chaperoning church and school events. Volunteer activities include serving as a Teen Court Judge. I am a graduate of Leadership Chatham; also, a graduate of Chatham County Citizen's College.

While growing up as a daughter of a single mom, I never imagined the excitement I experience from being part of our judicial system. However, I do imagine serving as your Clerk of Superior Court. The opportunity to serve as you Clerk of Superior Court excites me. I'm ready!
